Mobile Access to Pano Virtual Desktops

Pano RemoteWhile Pano Zero Clients provide the most efficient and highest performance access to virtual desktops some users need mobile or remote access as well.

Pano Remote enables users to reach their Pano desktop virtual machine from any remote location over a wide-area-network like the Internet.  It provides a simple and secure way to extend the benefits of Pano virtual desktops to users who are:

Pano Remote uses the Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) rather than the Pano Desktop Protocol (PDP).  While PDP offers a higher performance user experience with better support for rich mutlimedia and highly interactive applications over a LAN, RDP is better able to deal with high latency and bandwidth constrained network links such as WANs and the Internet.

Pano Gateway, a security portal included with Pano Remote, works with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services to allow secure transmission from mobile users via the Internet, though your firewalls and on to the virtual desktops hosted in your data center.  Because it acts as a secure gatekeeper, Pano Gateway eliminates the need for costly and complex VPNs to provide secure access to internal IT resources on your LAN.

Mobile workers only need a network connection to reach Pano Gateway - these connections can include:

Pano Remote is delivered already installed on a secure USB key and can be used with any laptop or desktop computer running Microsoft Windows XP, 7 or Vista.  Each key is marked with a unique serial number that allows an administrator to selectively enable or disable the keys from the Pano System management front-end, further increasing security options.

And with Pano System 6.0 you can optionally add RSA SecurID tokens and the RSA Authentication Manager to provide added security via two-factor authentication for all Pano Remote logins.
